Anjali Balakrishna is the Program Director for COVID Collaborative. She joined the effort after spending 10 months in India serving as the Chief of Staff for Frontier Markets, a social enterprise focused on empowering rural communities and rural women through facilitated e-commerce. Her time in India was sponsored through the American India Foundation William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service in India, which places social sector professionals with organizations to support capacity-building initiatives.
Prior to her fellowship, Anjali served as the Vice President of Innovation at The Future Project, a New York-based education non-profit, where she oversaw the organization’s program design and development efforts. At the Future Project, Anjali led teams of experienced designers and researchers to integrate the most cutting-edge research on youth development and thriving into vibrant, engaging learning experiences. She was also responsible for exploring and launching new business units within the organization to diversify revenue and impact.
Anjali holds a BA in American Studies with Distinction from Yale University, where she studied the role civic institutions—such as schools—played in shaping the American cultural experience.
